Baby Sleep Essentials

⭐ Crib

  • A crib is a must-have considering the safety of your LO. Letting the baby sleep with the parents may not be a safe option. Our family doctor had specifically asked if we are using a crib when we went for our baby's 1st checkup
  • You can also use a bassinet instead of a crib for the 1st few months, but still, you may need to buy a crib after that.
  • I don't suggest using a mini Crib even if it comes at a lower price as it may not be suitable for long-term use
Good cribs are available at IKEA. Below is one of the good options from Amazon
Crib with Changing Table: In a way, this is a cost-effective option as you don't have to buy a changing table separately

⭐ Crib Mattress

    Range : $74 - $163

⭐ Crib Sheet

    Range : $11- $40

The last three models are 100% Cotton

⭐ Bassinet

    Range : $140 - $250
  • It's not a must-have, but it was useful for me. I used to keep the bassinet in my hall so I was able to keep an eye on my LO, and in the daytime, she used to take naps in the bassinet.  
  • I don’t suggest buying very costly models as it wont be of use after sometime
  • You can use the bassinet for up to 4 months or 6 months

⭐ Crib Mattress Protector: If your baby hates a crib, a crib mattress protector could probably help by giving a soft and plush surface to rest on.

  • Is your baby having trouble sleeping at night? A Blackout curtain could probably help by creating an ideal, dark atmosphere to sleep in. 
Remember!! Only a dark atmosphere could create more melatonin which is the hormone that helps you to sleep, the same is applicable to your LO also!!
